Guatemala Missions
It has been my privilege to visit Guatemala over the past 3 years and it has rewarded me with a life changing experience. The beauty of the Merendon Mountains, once called Monte Oscuro or “The Dark Forest”, is as unique in its beauty and form as are the Chorti natives which we visit each year.
Our goal is to educate and improve the dental health of these people. In the past we have treated patients to relieve tooth pain and give them happy smiles. Over the course of the next few years we aspire to create a permanent dental clinic in LaUnion, Merendon Mountains. |

| As this clinic begins to develop, local university students and foreign dentists will be given the opportunity to service Chorti natives on a more regular basis than we are capable of providing currently. | |

We are also working hard to establish a Dental reserve fund to be used as payment to one local Dentist so he may continue the dental care of the Mayan natives. We have established a fee for his services (about half of his regular fees). Now while we are away dental treatment can still be arranged. I have had the pleasure and support of many of my team members and colleagues both here and joining me in Guatemala to provide the dental care so desperately needed.
Many business and dental professionals, team members, patients, friends and family have been very generous with monetary and supplies donations. I sincerely thank everyone for their past and ongoing support knowing without it we could not be making the difference we are! ~Dr. Russell Grover~ |
